AUSTIN, Texas - A Del Valle man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing fake oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl.

The backstory:
According to court documents, between May and June 2023, 22-year-old Gabriel Osorio was investigated for selling fentanyl-laced, fake oxycodone pills.
During the investigation, DEA agents bought pills from Osorio. The first purchase was for 100 pills, and the next was for 3,000 pills.
Osorio was later arrested at his home with 5,000 pills in his possession. Inside, another 3,700 pills, a money counter, a digital scale, four firearms, and $45,701 in cash, were found.
Osorio was sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling fake pills, and was ordered to forfeit $45,701, four firearms, and jewelry that was seized during the search.
