An early morning dispute over fireworks use led to a fatal shooting in southeast Austin. Police say it happened just after 2 a.m. on Anken Drive and Pleasant Valley.

Officers were called to the scene of an argument involving a gun. Whey they arrived they found a 19-year-old man had been shot. The victim was rushed to a hospital but later died from his injuries. He has been identified as Devonte Ortiz.

Police say there is video that shows a portion of the incident. The video and witnesses indicates that the two men began arguing when fireworks went off in an apartment complex parking lot.

The argument ended but then started up again when fireworks continued. This second argument escalated to the point that both men displayed guns.

Police say multiple firearms were recovered at the scene. They say the two men did know each other.
