East Austin mother not giving up on finding justice
They say there's no love like a mother's. That couldn't be truer for Eva Reyna and her love for her only son, Roberto.
“He was a very talented young man. He made a big deal over my birthday, a big deal over mother's day, he was mama's boy,” said Eva Reyna, his mother.
Roberto’s life was cut short, July 19, 2013. He was shot and killed outside his a home in East Austin.
“His oldest daughter has just had a baby. She lives in Pleasanton, Texas, near San Antonio. He was supposed to go and visit the next day,” said Reyna.
Last year Austin police handed the case to the cold case unit. As Eva waits year after year, she wonders not only who, but why would they kill Roberto? She even has a message for the killer.
“You didn’t think about his children, you didn't think about his mother and father,” said Reyna.
Roberto leaves behind three children, two grandkids who he'll never see grow up. but his mother is determined and is not giving up on seeking justice.
“If it were your son, if somebody murdered, and robbed your son, would you give up”? said Reyna.
