Gas leak in Pflugerville prompts evacuation of multiple homes

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas - A gas leak in Pflugerville forced some homes to be evacuated Wednesday night.

The city said it notified residents on July 24 around 8:15 p.m. that a major gas leak was impacting an area from Mallard Pond Trail to Hanging Rock Drive.

Seven homes in the immediate area were evacuated out of an abundance of caution. The city also issued three notifications through the PfAlert system.

The city says that it appears the leak was caused by accidental damage during construction by a third-party utility contractor.
