Fannie Davis Gazebo listed in National Register of Historic Places
AUSTIN, Texas - Austin's Fannie Davis Gazebo is getting some national recognition.
The structure at Vic Mathias Shores and Town Lake Metro Park is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The gazebo was the first public structure built in the effort to beautify the south shore of what was then known as Town Lake.
The Austin chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction spearheaded and raised money for the project.
The gazebo was dedicated in June 1970 and named after Fannie Davis in 1984.
Davis is a founding member of the Austin chapter of NAWC.
