Flea market shooting in Travis County; 2 detained
TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas - The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Southeast Austin. TCSO said three people were shot in the parking lot of an outdoor market on Sunday, June 30.
Gun shots were heard by witnesses in the parking lot of the 812 Outdoor Market in Southeast Austin.
"I saw everything that happened," a witness told FOX 7.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office said three people were shot. Two people with non-life-threatening injuries and one person fighting to stay alive.
"For now, I hope God helps him because it looked very traumatic," the witness said.
He said he was about 200 yards away from where it all happened on Sunday night. It was a little before 9 p.m. when TCSO said several people who knew each other were involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the outdoor market.
The witness said some people were fixing vehicles when he then heard three gunshots and saw a man fall to the ground.
"There was a concert going on and people were celebrating and then things like this happen," he said.
He said something is always happening in the area, but law enforcement is usually prepared.
"There's a lot of security in this location, everywhere you turn you see a police officer. The sheriff's department is always here," the witness said.
The sheriff’s office said this was an isolated incident. Several people were detained following the shooting.
The names of the victims and possible suspects have not been released yet.
