Former APD officer VonTrey Clark charged with murder of Samantha Dean

Former Austin Police Officer Vontrey Clark is on his way back to Central Texas from Indonesia.  And newly unsealed documents reveal he's been charged with the murder of Samantha Dean.

Indonesian authorities handed Clark over to the FBI on Wednesday Indonesian time, Tuesday Austin time.  

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo who recently fired Clark is pleased his former officer is facing the music.

"It sickens me what happened to Samantha Dean, to her unborn child and to the Dean family, and I thank God he is back," Acevedo said.

Since February, Clark has been connected to the murder of Kyle Police crisis counselor Samantha Dean and her unborn child.  DNA proved Clark is the father

Court documents allege he may have conspired to have her killed because he wanted Dean to get an abortion.

As Clark sat on a plane back to Texas Wednesday afternoon, documents explaining his standing with law enforcement were unsealed.

A criminal complaint filed by an FBI agent shows an offense of Unlawful Flight To Avoid Prosecution.  On July 21st a state district court in Bastrop County issued an arrest warrant for Clark based on a charge of Capital Murder -- the agent believes there's probable cause that Clark left the country to avoid being prosecuted for the crime.

Chief Acevedo has said in the past, Clark requested medical leave but was denied it...and he was never given permission to go to Indonesia.

More information on Clark is expected to be released tomorrow at 1:30 during a press conference at the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office.
