KILLEEN, Texas - Officials at Fort Hood say two tests on a solider came out negative for Ebola.
A Fort Hood soldier who recently returned from West Africa has died.
Fort Hood officials say they are working with the Killeen Police Department in the investigation. Officials say the 24-year-old man's body was found on the front lawn outside his off-post apartment residence Tuesday morning.
Officials say the solider had recently returned on emergency leave and was under established guidelines to self-monitor himself twice-a-day and report his status to medical officials. They say there is no indication of the Ebola virus but medical tests are underway to ensure there is no threat to the community.
The man's body is expected to head to Dallas for testing.
