FOX 7 Discussion: Advocating for Austin's music culture

AUSTIN, Texas - September 24 is HAAM Day, which celebrates Austin's music scene and helps support local musicians.

HAAM Day is the biggest fundraiser by the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians as businesses and music venues host more than 200 performances from local musicans across the city all day.

In the past few days, Austin City Council has approved $3 million to musicians and small music venues. 

Austin Texas Musicians president Nakia Reynoso and Red River Merchants Association executive director Cody Cowan join Marcel Clarke to discuss a new nonprofit being formed to give local musicians a greater voice at City Hall.
