FOX 7 Discussion: Funding to improve Austin-Bergstrom
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is receiving millions of dollars to fix its runways.
The funding is part of a large Federal Aviation Administration grant to support airport infrastructure across the county.
The US Department of Transportation is awarded $157 million in funding to 34 airports in 19 states, and more than $11 million of that is going to Austin-Bergstrom for runway rehabilitation.
USDoT says the construction will increase the airport's safety, capacity and future economic growth.
