FOX 7 Discussion: Mayor Adler on hotel occupancy tax negotiations

AUSTIN, Texas - City leaders plan to expand the Austin Convention Center and have considered extending the use of two percent of the hotel occupancy tax to do so.

However, earlier this month Travis County voters approved those same tax dollars to fund renovations for the Travis County Expo Center.

Now the county is negotiating with the city to receive that money as soon as possible.

Austin Mayor Steve Adler joins Marcel Clarke to discuss the plans to expand the Austin Convention Center and the current offer on the table from the county.
