AUSTIN, Texas - Nineteen property owners are suing the city of Austin regarding the proposed land development code overhaul.
They're asking the Travis County District Court to order the city to recognize their protest rights under state law.
On Wednesday, City Council approved a first draft of the revisions with a 7 to 4 vote.

A final approval could come in March, and under these protest rights, City Council would need 9 out of 11 votes to rezone.
Attorney Doug Becker, who is representing the property owners, joins Mike Warren to discuss the lawsuit.
