FOX 7 Unplugged: Jomo and the Possum Posse
AUSTIN, Texas - Best known for the wildly popular viral video series, “Guy On A Buffalo,” Jomo & The Possum Posse have made a name for themselves with their unique blend of cynicism, dead-eyed soul and anti-machismo honky-tonk. Their cult video series has surpassed 30 million views, garnering national attention from NPR’s All Things Considered, Forbes, G4’s Attack of the Show, and a slew of major media outlets.
The band is led by Jomo Edwards, who’s award-wining lyrics tend to skate the line between the sardonic and the arcane… and over the past decade, JPP has established itself as one of the most talented, fresh and cerebrally entertaining live acts around.
In 2020, the band was selected “Best of Fest” at Frontera Fest for the third year in a row at the long-running Austin Fringe Festival.
The band’s original programs highlight their brand of original music and comedy and are shown exclusively at this live theater event.
The band released their third full-length studio album, Take a Number, Satan on November 22nd, 2019 on CD, vinyl and digital. The album has received excellent critical reviews, including an Englishman’s review that described many aspects of the album as “fine.” The band believes “fine” to mean “good” in British version of the language, but they could be wrong.
