SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Texas Division of Emergency Management will be offering free COVID-19 testing in San Marcos on Sunday, June 14 and Saturday, June 20.
The free testing is part of the Governor's new initiative to test underserved communities.
"As the State of Texas continues to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we are committed to ensuring every Texan has access to COVID-19 testing no matter where they live," said Abbott. "We must address the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on underserved and minority communities and ensure that anyone who needs a test can have one.”
Mobile testing will take place at Bonham Pre-K School on TX-123 on June 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will provide two drive-through lanes and one walk-up lane for participants. Additional free mobile testing will be offered on June 20 at Bowie Elementary, Monterrey Oaks from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Appointments are not required to be tested, but anyone wanting to pre-register can call 512-883-2400 or go online. Results are expected 10-25 days after the test.
