Georgia teen admits to making bomb threat against Georgetown High School: police

Police said a 16-year-old boy living in Georgia admitted to making a bomb threat against Georgetown High School on Wednesday.

Police said no explosive devices were found.

Police said a 16-year-old boy living in Georgia admitted to making the bomb threat against Georgetown High School.

Local prosecutors and Georgia authorities are working on filing charges against the teen.

The charge at this time would be a third-degree felony charge, terroristic threat.

What we know:

According to the Georgetown Police Department, on Wednesday, Jan. 29, officers received a call from a man saying he placed explosive devices at Georgetown High School.

Georgetown ISD made the decision to evacuate the school and take the students who were already on campus to a safe and cleared location.

When the school was cleared, police searched the building. During the search, staff found three different things that seemed out of place or unusual. Those items were later cleared.

No explosive device was found on campus, police said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
