Dear Georgetown ISD Community,
In an effort to help limit the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19, Georgetown ISD will be suspending normal operations for two weeks following spring break.
Effectively, this will close campus operations through April 3 and GISD facilities will re-open on April 6.
During this time, all Georgetown ISDfacilities will be closed for instruction and all other purposes including UIL Events, athletics practices, facility rentals, field trips, etc.
Our team continues to work on continuity plans for learning, business operations, and other means of meeting our students’ and families’ needs, including meal services for students. We will have more information to share with you on those plans tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17. We will also continue our extensive cleaning efforts throughout the period of school closure.
We recognize that a closure may cause a childcare hardship for working parents and has other ripple effects on our partner organizations and we are working closely with them to support our community in the best possible way during this unusual time.
The safety and well-being of our community is at the forefront of our decisions. We appreciate your patience and support.
Fred Brent
Georgetown ISD Superintendent
