Get ready for the Greater Austin Comic Con
On Saturday, thousands of people packed into HEB Center in Cedar Park for the Greater Austin Comic Con. The event is a celebration that brings all things pop culture together.
Organizers of the event and attendees alike said it's a great way to get away from everything and celebrate your inner-geek. "Check out all my nerd stuff getting my nerd on. I see my childhood this is what I grew up watching and looking at I just got an autograph from the guy that's been voicing my favorite character my whole life," said Patrick Gonzalez.
Fans enjoyed interactive exhibits, autograph signings and shopped around for memorabilia.
For many, comic con is all about dressing up. Families and groups coordinated their costumes.
"We have Thor we have kinds of Star Wars characters, we have all kinds of gaming from Pokey Mon all kinds of nicely dressed up characters walking around," said Laila Roknian.
Organizers said it's a great way to give back to the community along with embracing local artiest.
"We are giving back to the local business and local artiest we just want to give back and show case their work and what they bring to the city," said Momo Villa.
