AUSTIN, Texas - An estimated 8,000 people showed up for Girl Day at UT Austin. They were on campus for a STEM festival.
More than 160 organizations and more than 2,000 volunteers went all out to encourage girls of all ages to get excited and learn more about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Event organizers say there were experiments and other intriguing things to check out.
This was the 19th time UT Austin has hosted the event.
