Happy birthday, Rosa Parks

Today would have been Rosa Park's 103rd birthday.
Rosa Parks became a pillar in the fight for equal rights for African Americans after refusing to surrender her bus seat to a white passaneger in Montgomery, Alabama on December 1, 1955. Equality supporters then took part in a city-wide boycott forcing the city to lift the law on segregation on public buses.
Although the moved help bring about equality in Montgomery, she still dealt with plenty of backlash. Parks was fired from her department store job. Her husband was fired from his job as well.
Eventually, the couple moved to Detroit where she worked as a secretary for a member of Congress.
Rosa Parks passed away in 2005.
