HAYS COUNTY, Texas - A Hays County church is working to pay off $12,000 dollars after a Christmas Day burglary.
The Friendship Creekside Fellowship sells fireworks to fund their youth programs. On Christmas, $12,000 worth of fireworks were stolen. The church must now pay that back.

The church has since re-stocked inventory from American Fireworks. They are hoping to sell the new fireworks to offset costs, and they are also asking for donations.
“We passed at least two other firework stands and said ‘Nah, we’re gonna go all the way down to that one.’” Doug Stites said Friday.
Stites and his partner Kathleen chose to drive out of their way to buy sparklers for their New Years' Eve wedding from the stand.

“It’s gonna be fun -- and it’s good to buy them from somebody that was doing the right thing and just got taken by a Grinch,” he said.
Donations can be made in person at the stand location at 14455 FM 1826 in Austin, or online.
