Hays County reports second coronavirus case

A second coronavirus case has been reported in Hays County, says Hays County epidemiologist Eric Schneider.

According to the county, the adult Hays County resident was tested at a clinic and is under self-quarantine at home until they are without fever for 48 hours without using fever-reducing medication.

Hays County says they cannot share information about where the testing occurred or the name, gender or city of the resident in quarantine.

The first case was reported Sunday morning and county officials declared a local state of disaster. The first patient had traveled to multiple cities along the west coast and is believed to have been exposed while traveling.
