Hazmat crews respond to gas line break in Southwest Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin firefighters are responding to a hazmat task force call after crews hit a gas line near the Y at Oak Hill in Southwest Austin.

AFD says crews hit a 6-inch gas main in the 7100 block of W State Highway 71 while they were digging for storm draining.

Officials are asking people to avoid the area.
