Man shot, killed following road rage incident in South Austin

One person is dead following a shooting in South Austin, police said.

Austin police said on Sept. 21, around 5:32 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at the SoCo Park apartment complex located at 7201 South Congress Avenue. Callers reported a man had been shot. 

When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Juan Davila with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the apartments. Davila died at the scene. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that Davila and another man were involved in a disturbance in the parking lot, following a road rage incident. At one point, Davila pulled out a handgun, and he was later shot and killed by the other man. 

The other man involved in the incident has been identified. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
