Vulcan Video opened its doors around the videotape boom of the mid 80's when VHS and VCRs hit in terms of popularity.

However, in recent years, the business says it took a big financial hit because of not just streaming services but also high rent.

Back in May 2019, a GoFundMe was created to get the store through the end of its lease.

The GoFundMe raised close to $33,000 but the store says ultimately the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic was too much.

In a Facebook post, the store thanked its loyal customers and staff over the years.

Vulcan Video says it will let customers who still have movies rented from them know where to return them once it's safe to do so.
