Killeen shooting suspect found dead in Nolan Creek
KILLEEN, Texas - The Killeen Police Department says a man they believed to have been randomly shooting a handgun in downtown last week has been found dead in a creek.
Nathan Erick Nance, 43, was found dead in Nolan Creek near Priest Drive Wednesday afternoon. An autopsy has been ordered, and the cause of death is pending.
Nance was a suspect in a shooting on October 10 around 6:46 a.m. Killeen police were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Hallmark Avenue due to multiple reports of a man shooting a handgun. Police say the suspect, identified later as Nance, was running north and randomly shooting his handgun.
As a precaution, Killeen ISD was notified to coordinate safe pickup for kids at school.
