Painted bullet casings in gang member's car matched those used in Kyle shooting, police say

Christian Jeffery, 18

New documents acquired by FOX 7 reveal what led police to arrest two teenagers in connection to a drive-by shooting at a party in Kyle.

The shooting on Old Stagecoach Road in Kyle injured a 17-year-old on Nov. 26.

Christian Jeffery, 18, and a minor were arrested and charged in connection to the shooting.

An arrest warrant affidavit for Jeffery shows that he was identified after allegedly pointing a gun at an 18-year-old near a P. Terry's later that day.

New Information

An 18-year-old man called the police shortly before 10 p.m. on Nov. 26 claiming that someone in the backseat of a white Toyota Camry pointed a black and gold gun at him.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, police went to the registered owner's address and found the car and two suspects matching the description of the people inside the car.

When officers approached, the two ran inside the home before coming outside a short time later.

The suspect, identified as Christian Jeffery, told police the gun that was seen at the P. Terry's was a toy gun.

The affidavit also describes what a female who was also inside the car told police.

She told officers that before going to P. Terry's, Jeffery drove to Austin to trade drugs and money for the a Glock handgun. She also allegedly told police that Jeffery and the juvenile suspect put Glock handguns inside a safe when they ran inside the home.

Officers searched Jeffery's car and found an empty Glock handgun case and several 9mm rounds that were painted red on the bottom. The casings matched those that were found at the scene of the shooting in Kyle.

A search of Jeffery's home found a black and gold Glock 19 handgun and a black Glock 19 with a "switch" on the side, according to documents. One of the guns was believed to be stolen out of Austin. A switch can turn a semi-automatic weapon into a machine gun.

Police say Jeffery also admitted to being a member of the gang the Bounty Hunter Bloods. A search of Jeffery's social media showed several connections to the gang.

Jeffery was charged with the theft of a firearm, possessing a prohibited weapon and tampering with evidence.
