AUSTIN, Texas - June 15 is the last day to register to vote for the July runoff and special election. Curbside voter registration will be available today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Travis County main tax office, 5501 Airport Blvd.
Volunteer deputy registrars standing outside the tax office doors will hand motorists a voter registration application.

Drivers are being asked to wear their masks when they roll down the window to interact with a registration worker, who will also be wearing a mask.
After receiving the application, drivers will park their cars to fill out the voter registration application. For safety reasons, those registering to vote need to bring their own pen.
When the application is complete, motorists can signal out their window for a deputy registrar to pick it up or drop it into one of the brown deposit boxes on the Airport campus.

Officials recently spoke with FOX 7 Austin's Natalie Martinez about steps being taken to enhance safety for voters and poll workers. Steps include each polling place having a kit filled with items like masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer and desks with plexiglass to help protect poll workers.
Voters will also utilize finger cots and disposable tools to limit contact with voting equipment.
Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir says however that they are encouraging people to vote by mail this election "because coming into a polling place has a risk for some people." She says they've received 25,000 mail-in ballot applications for this election so far.
