The Lower Colorado River Authority has begun flood control operations as the Highland Lakes watershed experiences widespread flooding.
Lakes Travis, Marble Falls, LBJ, Inks and Buchanan have been closed until further notice due to fast-moving floodwaters.
Flood operations are underway at Starcke Dam, which forms Lake Marble Falls, and Wirtz Dam, which forms Lake LBJ.
Officials say flood operations at Mansfield and Tom Miller dams began at noon Tuesday. Four flood gates were open by 7 p.m.
Flood operations at Buchanan Dam began at 10 p.m. Tuesday. With the Buchanan Dam floodgates opening, the LCRA will have flood operations at every dam along the Highland Lakes.
