Longhorn, Tech fans brave rain ahead of Friday's game
AUSTIN, Texas - Through rain or shine, well in this case mostly rain, die-hard Texas Longhorn fans geared up and flooded the area to support their Horns as they faced off against Texas Tech.
For some Longhorn fans like Ronnie Cruz who came all the way from the Rio Grande Valley for Friday’s game, the rain was definitely not a factor.
“We're true fans no matter how the weather is or the record is we are here again. Hook 'em Horns,” said Cruz.

Just down the road, one fan, Scott Wilson has his suped-up Longhorn ride. He’s been to 524 games both at home and away in a row. While the skies are cloudy, there is one thing clear this Friday; no amount of rain will keep Wilson from missing a game and breaking his impressive streak.
“Nothing is going to keep me away,” said Wilson.
This year's season hasn't been the best for the Horns, but both Wilson and Cruz are optimistic.
“We've had worse, and so we'll be fine,” said Wilson.

“We're here for them no matter what. The record doesn't matter,” said Cruz.
Texas fans aren't the only ones coming out in full force here in Austin. A group of Tech alumni posted up not too far from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, some rocking interesting rain gear to protect them from Friday’s weather.
“I'm from Austin and we went to the Tech game probably four years ago and it rained so we bought these Texas ponchos and rigged them up to be Texas Tech ponchos,” Tech alumna Courtney Foster said.
Like the Longhorns, Tech's season is a rocky one, but this hasn't dampened fans' spirits.
“Obviously it's a transitional year with a new coach but I think we played really well we kept up with Kansas state and I’m hopeful for the future,” said Tech alumna Heather Horne.
