Man on scooter hit by car in East Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - A man was transported to the hospital after being hit by a car while on a scooter in East Austin Sunday afternoon.

ATCEMS reported that EMS and fire crews were on the scene of an auto vs scooter incident at Calles and Hidalgo streets near the HEB shopping center around 1:40 p.m. 

EMS medics declared a trauma alert on a man in his 40s. He was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical life-threatening injuries.

EMS has cleared the scene. No further information was available.
