PAINESVILLE, Ohio - An Ohio man hid an iguana under his shirt then swung it over his head by its tail and threw it at a restaurant manager Tuesday, according to police.
Authorities in Painesville, Ohio, said a 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and animal cruelty.
Police responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at Perkins Restaurant at 11:49 a.m. Authorities said the suspect had removed the iguana from under his shirt, swung it over his head and threw it at the store manager before fleeing.
When officers found the man down the street, he fought them before being taken into custody.
The iguana was seized by police who named him Copper. He was taken to Lake County Humane Society to be checked for any injuries.
The police department shared a photo of Copper, who is a unique bright green and teal color. Many people responded by offering Copper a loving home and thanked police for rescuing him.
