Manor police arrest man suspected of burglarizing vehicles in Northeast Manor neighborhood

The Manor Police Department is asking residents in a Northeast Manor neighborhood to check their vehicles after they arrested a man suspected of multiple vehicle burglaries Wednesday morning.

According to a Facebook post from the department, officers responded to reports of a man trying to break into cars on Joy Lee Lane and Timber Arch in the Stonewater neighborhood around 4 a.m. Dec. 11.

After chasing the man on foot, officers found possibly stolen items they believed the suspect dropped during the chase.

The man was found around 10 a.m. and is being charged with burglary of a vehicle and evading on foot as well as several other charges, says Manor PD.

Police are asking anyone who lives on Joy Lee Lane, Jamie Drive, Timber Arch or Bouldin Court to check their vehicle and report anything missing to Manor PD by calling dispatch at 512-974-0845 option #3.

MPD says most of the recovered property is being returned to the owners, but there may be additional items taken from cars that has not been reported.

Manor PD says most of the vehicle burglaries they work are due to unlocked doors, so they're reminding everyone to remember to lock their doors and take their valuables inside.
