Manor police looking for alleged porch pirate

The Manor Police Department is asking the public to keep an eye out for a woman who's reportedly been stealing packages from front porches.

Manor PD posted photos of the woman and a car seen driving her around on their Facebook page.

While police say they have yet to receive any official reports of thefts, they are asking anyone who has had a package stolen to contact dispatch at 512-974-0845.

As of Sept. 1, it is now a state-jail felony to steal packages delivered to someone's front door.

In May, Gov. Greg Abbott signed off on HB 37, which makes it a state jail felony if the mail is appropriated from fewer than 10 addresses, a third-degree felony if it's appropriated from 10 to 20 addresses, second-degree felony if it's between 20 and 50, and first-degree if it's appropriated from 50 or more addresses.
