null - Billionaire investor and "Shark Tank" star Mark Cuban turned to ChatGPT to dissect the first presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Cuban shared his experiment on Twitter, seeking an unbiased AI perspective on the candidates' and who the bot would choose to be the leader of the free world.
"I cut and pasted a transcript of the debate into ChatGPT and asked it who it would hire for a job," Cuban tweeted. "Based on the debate transcript, evaluating Joe Biden and Donald Trump for a hypothetical employment scenario involves assessing their communication skills, clarity, problem-solving abilities, and overall professionalism. Here’s an analysis of each candidate from a hiring perspective."
Here's what ChatGPT had to say about each candidate:
Biden's Performance
ChatGPT acknowledged Biden's extensive experience in public service, noting his empathy and social awareness.
However, the AI also pointed out that Biden's responses were sometimes unclear and disjointed, which could detract from his overall communication effectiveness.
"During the debate, Biden’s responses were sometimes unclear and fragmented, which could raise concerns about his ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting," Cuban’s tweet read.
Trump's Performance
Trump was recognized for his assertiveness and confidence, which ChatGPT associated with strong leadership qualities.
Cuban noted in his tweet, "The AI perceived Trump as a strong, assertive leader who speaks with confidence."
Yet, the AI also noted that Trump often overstated his achievements, particularly in economic matters, and tended to evade specific questions.
"Trump’s frequent use of hyperbole and grandiose claims might raise concerns about his reliability and accuracy in communication," the tweet read.
Who should be president, according to AI?
Based on the debate performance alone, the AI concluded that it wouldn't hire either candidate.
According to Cuban, the AI said it would need to evaluate further both Biden and Trump's professional capabilities and job fit.
The AI said Biden's empathy and experience appear valuable, but his communication issues are concerning. His responses during the debate were often unclear and fragmented, making it difficult to convey his points effectively.
According to Cuban, ChatGPT said Trump's confidence and economic focus were strengths, but his tendency to exaggerate and avoid specifics is problematic. While his assertive communication style and emphasis on economic achievements were noted positively, the AI highlighted concerns about his reliability and precision.
