AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department said a missing woman and a two-year-old girl have been found.
Austin police said they were looking for 72-year-old Gloria Moore and two-year-old Journey Johnson. Originally, they were last seen near the 4000 block of River Place Boulevard on Monday, Feb. 12, at around 4:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, Feb. 13, Austin police said Moore and Johnson were found safe.
On Tuesday afternoon, Moore and Johnson were found along Highway 71 in the Oak Hill area. Officers say Moore had run out of gas and flagged down a passerby to call a relative. Her own phone had died.
Police say Moore was disoriented and didn't know where she was or what day it was.
On Tuesday morning, family members canvassed the area and passed out fliers.
Shyanne Moore is Johnson's mother and Moore's granddaughter. She spoke to FOX 7 during the search.
"I just talked to them, and then I get phone calls that they can't find them. I've been up since 4 in the morning trying to find my baby," she said. "We are just out here looking, people out here looking with us," Shyanne said.
She said she's grateful for the support and everyone who came out.
"I thank everybody," she said.
