Motorcyclist, pedestrian killed in east Austin crash on Christmas
AUSTIN - A pedestrian and a motorcyclist were killed after a crash on Christmas Day in east Austin.
What We Know: The crash happened on Wednesday, shortly before 8:40 p.m. on East Highway 290, near Creekside Drive.
Police say a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian in the westbound lanes.
The motorcyclist, 44-year-old Kendra Dorby Mottley, and the pedestrian were both pronounced dead at the scene.
What We Don't Know: Police did not give any circumstances surrounding the crash.
The pedestrian has not been identified at this time.
By The Numbers: This is Austin's 92nd fatal crash of 2024. 99 people have been killed in those crashes.
As of December 2023, there was 89 fatal crashes resulting in 92 deaths.
