Multiple people involved in crash on SH 71

AUSTIN, Texas - Officials say four people were involved in a crash on SH 71 and Covered Bridge Road. 

It had been reported earlier that one person had been pronounced dead at the scene but that has been corrected by officials.

The two vehicle crash happened in the 7500 block of West SH 71. 

Austin-Travis County EMS says that one woman and two men, all in their 20s, were taken to a local hospital with critical life threatening injuries. A man in his 60s has also been taken to the hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

SH 71 is closed in both directions at Covered Bridge Road due to the crash. Officials say avoid area if possible as there is expected to be extended delays.
