Multiple women robbed at gunpoint near Hyde Park neighborhood; police look for suspect
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is asking the public for help locating a suspect involved in a series of aggravated robberies that happened between December 22 and December 24.
APD says the robberies happened near the Hyde Park neighborhood in the 600 block of Maiden Lane. The first incident happened at around 9:48 p.m. on December 22 and a second robbery happened on December 24 at around 9:15 p.m.
Police say the suspect robbed multiple women at gunpoint. He fled on foot and was chased through the neighborhood near Maiden Lane and West 35th Street.
The suspect is pictured below and is described as follows:
- Black male
- Late teens to early 20s
- 5’5" – 5’8"
- Medium build
- On December 22, he was seen wearing a hoodie with a black beanie, carrying a stolen white fuzzy fanny pack, a black crescent purse, and unknown pants/shoes description
- On December 24, he was seen wearing a black hoodie with black beanie, black or dark-color pants, and carrying a stolen red shoulder bag, and unknown shoes description
Detectives obtained images of the suspect fleeing through the residential neighborhood.
They are also requesting any other doorbell or surveillance videos that may have recorded the suspect fleeing through the neighborhood surrounding Maiden Lane and W 35th Street between December 22nd, 2024 at 9:45 – 10:00 pm and December 24th, 2024 at 9:15 – 9:30 pm.
