It has been 10 months since a former college football player was murdered in Austin. The case remains unsolved. Andre Hill's mother is asking for your help so that she may finally know what happened to her son.
Police found the body of 43-year-old Andre Hill at the Silverado Condos off Burton Drive in East Austin on February 12th of this year. Officers say he had obvious signs of trauma on his body. How it happened remains a mystery.
"I've heard so many stories that he left here with a friend. Got with a friend. After he got where he was, I still don't know to this day," said mom Belinda Davis. "I see the friend all the time and I want to ask so many questions, but it's not for me to ask right now. I feel like God is going to give me that answer soon."
Mother, Belinda Davis, has relied heavily on her faith to get her through the past ten months. She misses her son whom she calls Dre.
"He always had that Dre smile, you know. He was just a joyous person," said Davis.
Two photos of Dre hang in her living room. One is posed. He was in his 20s. The other photos is from Dre's college days as a running back for the University of Iowa.
"I used to run up and down the sidelines with him. Everytime he caught the ball, I caught the ball," she said. "I still have videos of that. I think about it all the time and I say to myself why. Such talent, you know?"
Dre went onto have three children. Davis says he was working as a mason in Georgetown at the time of his death.
"He just had me so surrounded, you know. I talk to him a lot and I can just hear him you know," said Davis.
Davis is convinced, as are police that people know what happened to Dre. They just haven't come forward. Davis says she is patient and has already forgiven them in her heart.
"I know God's got it. He can handle it. It just takes time," said Davis.
