A noise complaint on Sunday in Bastrop leads Sheriff's Deputies there to a massive cockfighting ring, while a fight was underway. Rowdy Fowler, the man who owns the property fled along with at least 32 other people.
The Bastrop County Sheriff's Office says he is wanted for questioning. A warrant for his arrest has not been issued.
There were at least seventy people on the property for the fight, according to the Sheriff's Office, some of them there from as far away as San Antonio. Tow companies in the area were called in to haul away the 32 cars left behind. The 40 people who stayed on the property were issued citations "Spectator at a Cockfight."
When Deputies, along with Texas Parks and Wildlife Troopers entered the property, they found 130 roosters. 4 of them were so badly hurt they died. Judge Larry Dunne ordered the rest be euthanized, because, The Sherriff's Office says they are too aggressive to live with other animals.
On February 8, 2015, Bastrop Sheriff's Deputies busted a similar ring in Elgin.
