Officials identify body recovered from Lake Travis

AUSTIN, Texas - The Travis County Sheriff's Office has identified the body that was recovered from Lake Travis on June 7. The body has been identified as 33-year-old Santos Ervin Cux-Tacatic from Austin.

TCSO says that at around 12:30 p.m. on June 7 it responded to a 9-1-1 call about a swimmer in distress in the Jones Brothers Park swimming area and that the swimmer had gone under and not resurfaced.

At 12:55 p.m., the rescue efforts shifted to recovery and at around 1:37 p.m. Cux-Tacatic's body was recovered by Lake Travis Fire & Rescue in an area about eight to 10 feet deep.

An investigation into the exact cause and manner of death is still being conducted by TCSO and the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office.
