One dead following small passenger aircraft crash in San Marcos

A small passenger aircraft has crashed in San Marcos earlier this morning, according to officials.

San Marcos Fire and Police helped Hays County and the FFA respond to a small passenger aircraft that crashed early Wednesday morning. 

The aircraft took off from the San Marcos Regional Airport just before 6 AM this morning. Right after takeoff, air traffic control lost contact with the aircraft. 

The aircraft was located at approximately 8 AM this morning on the ALERRT Center property, according to officials. 

One deceased victim has been located.
