AUSTIN, Texas - Crews are out in eastern Travis County as recovery efforts continue after Austin-Travis County EMS reports two adults fell out of a canoe Monday night.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office tweeted out at just after 8:30 a.m. today (5/26) that the body of one of the canoers, a female in her 50s, had been recovered and that the search continues for the other missing boater who has been identified as male.
FOX 7 Austin spoke with the TCSO who says that it's launching an additional boat to go out and help. Sonar searches will also be conducted and drone searches have been going on since about 11 a.m.
Texas Parks and Wildlife is also helping and assisting with the recovery efforts.

It all began on May 25 when ATCEMS says that multiple rescue assets responded to a water rescue around 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of Falwell Lane.

STAR Flight was dispatched to assist in looking for the pair alongside four rescue swimmers and Travis County Fire Rescue and Austin Fire Department boats in the water. After 40 minutes, the rescue turned into a recovery effort, according to ATCEMS.
The two adults never resurfaced. The scene has been turned over the Travis County Sheriff's Office which will be handling the investigation of the incident.
