Over a million dollars worth of K2 seized by APD
The Austin Police Department took four suspects into custody after finding over 74.32 kiles of K2 (Synthetic Cannabinoid) in multiple trash bags in their vehicle while traveling into Austin.
The seizure represents about 222,960 individual doses with a street value of $1,114,800.
According to the Austin Police Department, police officers had received a tip via Crime Stoppers about a group of individuals that was dealing large amounts of K2 in the Austin area. The tip stated that the individuals were planning on traveling to Houston to pick up more K2 for distribution.
An investigation was initiated by APD's Organized Crime Unit.
The Austin Police Department and the Houston Police Department worked together to conduct surveillance on the individuals as they traveled from Houston to Austin.
A Felony Car Stop was initiated by APD and the multiple trash bags filled with K2 discovered.
The case was accepted for federal prosecution and is ongoing.
