Overnight shooting in Taylor leaves 17-year-old girl dead

A17-year-old was female has been shot and killed in Taylor overnight. 

At approximately 12:15 a.m. on March 21, police responded to Baylor, Scott, and White Medical Center in Taylor for a report of a female who had suffered a gunshot wound and died. 

The deceased was later identified as 17-year-old Jade Erwin of Elgin, Texas. 

According to police, two subjects had fled on foot from the hospital prior to officers arriving on the scene. Police were able to apprehend a female and male subject, later identified as 25-year-old Marquis Wilson. The two were found hiding in a dumpster behind a department store.

The vehicle that the shooting occurred in was located at the hospital. An investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in the vehicle while in motion in Bastrop County. The subjects drove to Taylor where the female was dead upon arrival. 

Wilson was charged with Manslaughter, a second-degree felony. He has been booked into the Williamson County jail. 

The female subject was questioned and released by police.
