Kingsland man found dead by SWAT team at Cedar Park hotel

A Kingsland man was found dead by SWAT personnel at a hotel Sunday afternoon, says the Cedar Park Police Department.

CPPD says that patrol officers were called to the Best Western hotel at 425 E. Whitestone Boulevard on Aug. 13 in reference to a disturbance.

An investigation led officers to believe a "significant, family violence-related assault" had happened and that the suspect was still inside a hotel room. Officers then obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect.

The Central Texas Regional SWAT team was called to respond as a threat assessment gave officers reason to believe the man posed "a significant danger" to law enforcement.

Cedar Park police say Black was the subject of the arrest warrant.
