Police investigate deadly motorcycle crash in Kyle

KYLE, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - The Kyle Police Department is investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and an 18-wheeler trailer.

The crash happened at about 10:15 p.m. on I-35 near Mile Marker 217. 

The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Edward Ortiz.

Kyle PD says Ortiz was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit an 18 wheeler in front of him. 

Ortiz became entangled under the trailer and the driver pulled over about 200 feet down the highway. Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene.
