Police investigating homicide in SE Austin

Police are searching for the shooter involved in a homicide at a Southeast Austin apartment complex early Tuesday morning. FOX 7 Austin's John Krinjak has details.

Police are searching for the shooter involved in a homicide at a Southeast Austin apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

Austin police were called to the Concord Apartments off Bluff Springs Road around 12:30 a.m. Police received multiple calls from residents who said they heard gunshots being fired within the complex. When police arrived, they found a man in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Officers and EMS tried to assist him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are not saying whether the victim lived at the Concord Apartments. So far no arrests have been made, and police do not have a description of a suspect—but they are working to track down the shooter, as well as a vehicle that may have been involved.

"We do have reports that there was a potential vehicle that was involved that did leave the scene. Right now we don't have a description to put out on that vehicle, but this did obviously occur within a parking lot, so we do have a vehicle that we're trying to seek out," said Austin Police Officer Michael Bullock.
