Police arrest suspect for Harris Branch Parkway homicide, identify victim
According to police, a male victim was shot outside an auto repair shop in the 12700 block of Harris Branch Parkway, near East Howard Lane.
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department (APD) has made an arrest in the fatal shooting on Harris Branch Parkway. Police have also identified the victim.
Darryl Brown, 34, was arrested for the murder of 47-year-old Eric Wilkinson.
According to police, 9-1-1 received a call that someone had been shot in the 12700 block of Harris Branch Parkway around 1:49 p.m. on Monday, November 8. APD officers, along with Travis County Sheriff deputies, arrived and found Eric Wilkinson. Police began to administer life-saving measures but he succumbed to his injuries and died.
Officers encountered a possible suspect on the scene and quickly detained this person, according to police. The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Darryl Brown. Brown was subsequently charged with murder and booked into the Travis County Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
