Police say bicyclist killed after being run over by dump truck
TAYLOR, Texas - A bicyclist was run over by a dump truck and killed Monday afternoon police said.
According to Taylor Police it happened around 3 p.m. on Sixth and North Main Streets.
Taylor Police said 40-year-old Michael Webb was riding his bike northbound on the sidewalk of North Main Street when 24-year-old Steven Reyes Jr. was driving a dump truck eastbound on West Sixth Street.
Police said Reyes Jr. made a right turn heading southbound on North Main Street when he collided and ran over Webb who had entered the crosswalk.
Webb suffered massive internal injuries as well as head injuries and died on scene said police.
Texas DPS responded to the scene and assisted the Taylor Police Department.
Police said this is Taylor’s first fatal collision of 2018.
